Today is the 80th birthday of country’s noted actor and cultural personality Syed Hasan Imam. He will trun 81 today. Hasan Imam Jonmodin Udjapon Parishad has arranged various colourful programmes today to celebrate his birthday.
Today Hasan Imam’s birthday is to be specially celebrated at 6:30pm at Shawkat Osman Auditorium of the Central Public Library in the city’s Shahbagh area. The programme includes screening of documentary and unveiling a memorial book titled Nil Chhoya Kinbodonti.
While sharing celebration of his birthday Syed Hasan Imam told this correspondent, “It is really a memorable day for me. With Allah’s blessings I have passed 80 years in my life. Everybody pray for me. I am really grateful to them who are engaged to celebrate my birthday.”
Syed Hasan Imam’s wife, noted dancer Laila Hasan and their daughter Sangeeta Imam will also give speech in the programme.
Syed Hasan Imam was born on July 27 in 1935 in Burdhwan at his maternal uncle’s residence. He has a lot of contributions in film direction, production, acting and national cultural movements.
In 1972, he first made a film Lalon Fakir. Later he made two other movies – Laal Sabujer Pala and Obichar. He was first seen to act in movie Dharapat in 1961. Later he acted in many movies like Raja Elo Shohorey, Shit Bikel, Onek Diner Chena, Janajani, Ujala, Parwana, Is Dhorti Par, Kagojer Nouka, Anarkoli, Ghuddi, Sareng Bou, Dumurer Phool, etc.
