Swedish golfer Malcolm Kokocinski clinched the US Dollar 300,000 AB Bank Bangladesh Open title carding a superb six-under-par 65 in the final round of the prestigious Asian Tour meet at the Kurmitola Golf Club course here on Saturday.
After the 4th and final round, the Swedish golfer aggregated 14-under par (68+66+71+65) 270 to clinch the title with identical margin.
Bangladeshi promising professional golfer Zamal Hossain Mollah, who shared 7th slot making seven-under-par (69+65+72) 206 after the 3rd round on Friday, today (Saturday) made a brilliant comeback in the final round to finish 3rd slot jointly with US golfer John Catlin carding nine-under-par (69+65+72+69) 275.
Later, Zamal Hossain Mollah was adjudged the best Bangladeshi professional golfer while Mohammad Farhad named as the best Amateur golfer of Bangladesh.
English golfer Jack Harrison, who dominated the meet in the 3rd round carding seven-under-par (66-69- 67) 135, shared the 2nd slot with Ben Campbell of New Zealand playing eleven-under par.
Two Asian Tour winners and Bangladeshi celebrated golfer Siddikur Rahman, who was placed 19th after the 3rd round, made worse 26th carding an overall (72+ 69+ +70+72)283.
Besides, Bangladeshi players Badal Hossain finished joint 14th and Shakhawat Sohel joint 22nd.
President of Bangladesh Golf Federation and Chief of Bangladesh General Abu Belal Muhammad Shafiul Huq was the chief guest at the day’s closing function and distributed the trophies.
Senior Vice President of Bangladesh Golf Federation (BGF) Major General AKM Abdullah Hil Baqui and BGF general secretary Kazi Shamsul Islam were also present on the occasion.
