Swami Smaranananda new president of Ramakrishna Mission

Swami Smaranananda Maharaj was elected as the next President of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission (RKM), a global religious, philanthropic, voluntary organization of Hindu monastic order.
Board of Trustees of the Math and Governing Body of the Mission at a meeting held on Monday at its headquarters at Belur, West Bengal, elected Swami Smaranananda as the 16th president of the monastic order, said a press release of Dhaka Ramakrishna Mission on Tuesday.
The position fell vacant as 15th president of the Mission Swami Atmasthananda, died of old age complications on June 18, 2017 at the age 98.
Ramakrishna Mission, founded by Swami Vivekananda, conducts extensive work in healthcare, disaster, relief, rural management, tribal welfare, elementary and higher education and culture across the world.
