The government has lifted its suspension order imposed on the academic activities of three private medical colleges. But they are barred from taking the new students before further instruction from the
Health Ministry.
A statement by the Health Ministry on Thursday said that the decision was taken considering the future of the students of these institutions.
On Sunday, the Health Ministry suspended academic activities of Northern Medical College in Rangpur, City Medical College in Gazipur and Nightingale Medical College in Ashulia of Gazipur.
There are many allegations, including violating the rules and regulations of the Health Ministry.
After the suspension, the students of Nightingale Medical College and other two colleges took to the street and demanded opening of their institutions for saving their academic life and dreams.
The students of Nightingale Medical College also formed a human chain in front of the National Press Club.
The suspension has been lifted, but the order, which barred them from taking in new students, remains in force.
