Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has congratulated her Bangladesh counterpart Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali on his reelection in the 11th parliamentary polls, an official release said on Wednesday.
“Sushma called Bangladesh Foreign Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali on Tuesday to congratulate him on his election victory,” it added. She stated that the Government of India would continue to cooperation with Bangladesh as a close neighbor, the release quoted Sushma as saying. She also hoped to work together with Mahmood Ali in future. It may be mentioned that both the ministers co-chair the Joint Consultative Commission (JCC) to coordinate sectoral collaboration between the two countries.
Ali thanked Sushma for the call, expressing the hope that both the countries would continue to work together for the benefit of the two peoples.
