The Detective Branch (DB) of Police yesterday submitted a supplementary charge-sheet against Oishee Rahman and two of her friends in the case filed for killing Special Branch (SB) Inspector Mahfuzur Rahman and his wife Swapna Rahman.
The other two accused are Asaduzzaman Jony and Mizanur Rahman Rony and they are at present in the Kashimpur Central Jail.
DB Inspector Abul Khair Matubbar submitted the second charge-sheet to Dhaka’s Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court on Wednesday. In the supplementary charge-sheet, names of nine witnesses have been removed and eight new witnesses have been included. Five of the new witnesses are magistrates. Nineteen witnesses testified so far and others will likely testify on September 23.
On May 6, the court framed charges against three accused, including Oishee. The case against another accused housemaid juvenile Sumi has been transferred to the Child Court.
On August 14, 2013, SB Inspector Mahfuzur and his wife Swapna were stabbed to death at their rented flat in Chamelibagh in city’s Malibagh area. Police recovered their decomposed bodies on August 16.
Their daughter Oishee with housemaid Sumi, 15, surrendered to Paltan Police Station on August 17.
Later, Oishee gave a statement to a Dhaka Court claiming that she had killed her parents with the help of housemaid Sumi. Investigators found involvement of two of her friends Rony and Jony in the murder and they were arrested later.
