Police recovered the body of an unidentified man from Kuri Beel at Sadipur village in Osmaninagar upazila on Sunday.
Locals spotted the body of the deceased, aged around 45, floating on the beel in the afternoon and informed police.
Later, police recovered the body and sent it to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
A case was filed with Osmaninagar Police Station in this connection.
