Super League of DPL Cricket begins today

The Super League of the Bangabandhu Dhaka Premier League (DPL) Cricket begins today at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the city’s Mirpur.
Top six teams from first phase of DPL Cricket will compete in the Super League. Prime Bank Cricket Club secured the top position grabbing 18 points from 11 matches.
Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club took the second position gaining 16 points from 11 outings, while Dhaka Abahani Limited achieved the third position collecting 16 points from as many matches. Prime Doleshwar took the second spot by virtue of better run rate. Gazi Group Cricketers obtained the fourth position bagging 14 points from 11 matches, while Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited took the fifth position collecting 13 points from 11 outings. Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited attained the sixth position earning 13 points from as many outings. Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club will take on Gazi Group Cricketers in the day’s first match at 9.00am, while Prime Bank Cricket Club will face Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited in the day’s second match at 2.00pm and Dhaka Abahani Limited will meet Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club in the day’s last match at 6.30pm.
Prime Bank Cricket Club, Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club and Dhaka Abahani Limited will fight for the championship title as they have better points than the other three teams.
The Super League will start amid the rain. So, the matches are likely to be held after curtail the overs.
Besides, dashing opener Tamim Iqbal, the Captain of Prime Bank Cricket Club cannot take part in the Super League due to injury. Captain of Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited Shakib Al Hasan will not play in the Super League as Shakib left the city for United States of America (USA) to spend time with his family. Shakib will join Bangladesh Cricket team in Zimbabwe from USA.
