Summit Gr starts supply of imported LNG in nat’l grid

Privately owned Summit Group has formally started supplying Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) into the national gas supply grid.
The Summit Group on Tuesday afternoon informed the reporters that the supply commenced from 10:00pm Monday night, a month ahead of scheduled time.
Summit is the first Bangladeshi company
importing LNG for supply into the national supply link.
Summit Group Chairman Muhammed Aziz Khan said the group’s 500mmcfd LNG will boost the confidence of the investors in the country.
He claimed to ensure uninterrupted supply of LNG and the government should set a fair price. Earlier, Summit LNG Terminal Co Ltd (SLNG) has successfully completed the commissioning of its Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) on April 29 (Monday). It was completed approximately one month ahead of schedule time. “We are grateful for the opportunity given to Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources (MPEMR), Petrobangla and Rupantarita Prakritik Gas Co Ltd (RPGCL)” said Muhammed Aziz Khan, founder chairman of the group.
