Summit-DRU Media Cup Cricket starts tomorrow at the Moulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium.
Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) will arrange the cricket competition. Summit Group is the title sponsor of the meet. Sonali Bank Limited, Standard Bank Limited, Janata Bank Limited and KN-Harbour Consortium Limited are the co-sponsors of the cricket tournament.
Marking the upcoming cricket competition, a press conference was held at the DRU Round Table Auditorium on Tuesday. President of DRU Saiful Islam, General Secretary of DRU Syed Shukur Ali Shuvo, Sports Secretary of DRU Arafat Daria, Member Secretary of the Sports Sub-Committee of DRU Shafiqul Islam Shamim, Member Secretary of the Cricket Committee of DRU Mainul Hasan Sohel were present at the conference, among others.
A total of 50 print, electronic and online media houses splitting into 16 groups will take part in the knock out basis cricket tournament. GTV, Amar Din, Manabzamin, Banglanews are in Group-A, Daily Star, Somokal, Sangram are in Group-B, Ittefaq, bdnews, Sangbad Pratidin are in Group-C, Jagonews, Naya Diganta, Sharebizz are in Group-D, Alokito Bangladesh, Radio Today, New Age are in Group-E, Channel i, Boishakhi TV, UNB, Kalbela are in Group-F, Ekattor TV, ETV, risingbd are in Group-G, Daily Sun, Jugantor, Sarabangla are in Group-H, Bangla Vision, Amader Shomoy, BTV are in Group-I, SA TV, Amader Orthoneeti, Jai Jai Din are in Group-J, The New Nation, ATN Bangla, Bangladesh Pratidin are in Group-K, RTV, Bangladesher Khobor, BSS are in Group-L, Inqilab, Kalerkantho, Bhorer Kagoj are in Group-M, NTV, ATN News, Manobkantha are in Group-N, Jamuna TV, Janakontho, The Independent are in Group-O, Channel24, Ajkaler Khobor, Daily Observer are in Group-P.
The champions will be awarded Taka fifty thousand and a trophy, while the runners-up will get Taka twenty five thousand and a trophy.
The six-day long cricket meet will came to an end on April 3.
