Sheikh Arif Bulbon :As a pair, popular TV actress Sumaiya Shimu performed with another popular actor Apurbo in single plays rather than drama serials. This time this pair has performed together again in a new serial titled Lake Drive Lane. Directed by Nazrul Islam Razu story of the serial was written by Mesbah Uddin Sumon. Nazrul Islam Razu’s directed last viewers’ choice serial was Chupkotha, which was aired on SA TV. The director also believes that his new serial will also become popular among the viewers. Lake Drive Lane will be made in 104 episodes under the banner of production house, Sun Music and Motion Pictures Ltd. While talking about her performance in this serial actress Sumaiya Shimu told this correspondent, “In my present condition, now I have become choosy while selection of acting in TV plays specially in TV serial. Story of Razu Bhai’s serial has touched my soul. For this reason, I have agreed to work. Earlier I had worked against Apurbo in several TV plays and serials. I always feel comfortable to work against him. I believe viewers will enjoy the serial.”Apurbo shared his feelings by this way, “It is nothing to say new about the performance and popularity of Sumaiya Shimu. She can impress the viewers by virtue of her natural acting quality and skill. Therefore, as a co-actress, Shimu is nice and cooperative. Viewers will enjoy watching our performances in the new serial.” The serial Lake Drive Lane will go on air on NTV from February 2. It will be aired on the channel at 8:20pm every Monday and Tuesday. It may be mentioned that Sumaiya Shimu and Apurbo first performed together in a 13-episode serial titled Sonalu Phul under the direction of Ashraful Alam Ripon. Later they worked together in Ferdous Hasan Rana’s Mohanogor, Alvi Ahmed’s Adda, among other serials and faction plays. Meanwhile, under Mazharul Islam’s direction and Shimu’s acted a serial titled Ekjon Mayaboti will go on air soon. Mahfuz Ahmed acted against her in the serial, Shimu said.Recently Shimu’s acted and Ezaz Munna directed a serial titled Jogajog Golojog has been finished to air on NTV. On the other hand, besides acting, Apurbo is trying to give more time to his wife Aditi and only son Aayash now. He is eagerly waiting to release his acted debut film Gangster Returns, directed by Ashiqur Rahman, Apurbo said. n
