In media, Suma Afroza started her professional
journey through contesting ‘Lux-Channel i Superstar’
contest in 2005. She secured the fourth position in that contest. At first, Suma performed as a model of Lux under direction of Amitabh Reza Chowdhury. Later, she came into discussion to perform as model with Litu Anam under Parvez’s direction in the TVC of Fair & Lovely. A dialogue in the TVC uttered by Litu Anam to Suma Afroza, “Obhinoy Korbe? (Will acting?)” got popularity among the viewers’ mouths. That Suma later acted in many dramas but didn’t get the scope to work in any cinema.
Now situation of the movies in our country has been changed. In this situation, Suma is showing her keen interest to act in good story based movies.
While talking in this regard, she said, “Overall scenario of the movies is now changing. Movies are being with good stories. For this reason, many actors are showing their keen interest to work in the silver screen. I wish to work in a good story based movie. I want to acting in a movie which there will be a good story and own likeable character under a reputed director’s direction as the audience goes to the theatres to enjoy the movie. I don’t know when my dream will come into true. But I strongly believe I will work in a good story based movie soon.” In television drama, Suma was first seen to act in Rumana Rashid Ishita directed a drama titled Ek Nijhum Aronnye. Then Suma acted in many dramas. Now she is acting in Channel i’s ongoing serial titled Bou Rashi.
