A preparatory meeting organised by the Narail District Administration and S M Sultan Foundation was held to celebrate the Sultan Mela-2018 marking the 93rd birth anniversary of the world famous artist S M Sultan. Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Emdadul Haque Chowdhury presided over the meeting at the DC’s Conference Room of Narail on Tuesday.
Among others, Superintendent of Police Sardar Rakibul Islam, ADC (Gen) Mohammad Kamrul Arif, district administration officer, general secretary Md. Ashikur rahman Miku and members of S M Sultan foundation and representatives of civil society were present in the meeting. The meeting decided to organize a week-long Sultan Mela will begin any day from December 21, 2017 to January 1, 2018.
It was informed in the meeting that in the week-long Sultan Mela with the program of rural sports, children’s art competition, art exhibition , discussions on Artist’s life and work, distribution of Sultan medal and cultural events will be held along with various programs at Sultan Manch in Narail. A budget of Tk 15 lakh has been announced for the program .
