Chittagong Metropolitan Police authority conducted instant raid against drug trafficking, car and bike lifting and terrorists in the city aimed at to keep stable of the law and order in the city on Friday . The raid continued upto 9 pm from 6 pm. During the period of raid about 37 persons allegedly involved with different misconducts and terror activities, sources said.
During the period of drive, 37 persons were rounded up from different areas of Chandgaon thana for alleged trafficking of drug, pilferage of bikes and other allegations as accused before the different police stations in the city. Police suspected them on suspicious movement in the area. Sub-inspector of police of Chandagaon thana Arifur Rahman told that all the detained are youths and their aged ranging from 20 to 35 years. After apprehendingthem these detained youth sent to court yesterday under section 54 of BPC. CMP sources said a part of regular drive against terrorism, this raid was conducted .and in this drive, arms, drugs and illegally driven vehicles were seized . in this connection of drive, 50 checkposts instantly set up within the city areas and 10 policemen deployed in each check post, sources said.
