Successful sea trial of fishing trawler FV Sonali held

 The sea trial of second fishing trawler FV Sonali built in FMC Dockyard successfully completed on April 4 last in the Bay .
 The trial continued for four days in the bay without any loopholes . This is the bigger ocean-going fishing trawler that built in the country. In the meantime first fishing trawler FV CML Labiba was successfully completed sea trial veryrecently and the 3rd one will be sailed for sea trial, FMC sources said.
 The FMC sources said within next few months, similar more three trawlers will be built in this dockyard. Sources said following the productions of oceangoing fishing trawler, country will be able to save huge foreign currency for w hich country will be benefited economically.
While contacted Managing Director of FMC Dockyard Md. Yasin Chowdhury told the New Nation that the 360 HP powered FV Sonali have loading capacity of 250 metric tons and installed 550 KW Caterpiller Generator. He further said the maintenance cost of the locally produced trawler is more less that imported one.
The owner of the FV Sonali is Dhaka- based Sarnali International Ltd. Mentionable that FMC Dockyard created a new dimension in the shipbuilding industry in the country. FMC earlier successfully completed building of container vessel, tanker, dredger, cruise vessel, ferry, tug boat, platinum , slipper etc recently.
