A reception program of successful students of HSC 2016 organized by the Public Relations Office and Admission Office of Eastern University (EU) was held recently at the EU premise. Nearly 1,000 students from all over the Bangladesh participated in the ceremony. Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid, MP was the chief guest in the program. Md. Azizul Islam, Chairman, Board of Trustees, EU was present as Guest of Honor. The program was chaired by the Vice Chancellor of Eastern University, Prof Dr Abdur Rab while Helal Uddin, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Education; Md. Habibur Rahman, Managing Director, Al-Arafah Islami Bank Ltd were present as special guests. Prof Dr Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, Pro Vice Chancellor of EU delivered the welcome speech.
The chief guest said, today’s children are our future. So, they need to be nurtured properly.
In order to materialize the vision of Bangabandhu’s Sonar Bangla, these children and the future generations are the key. He also hoped that the advancement of the universities and today’s youth will take Bangladesh to the doorsteps of implementing ‘Digital Bangladesh’ as envisioned by the present government. He thanked Eastern University for arranging programs that encourage youth of the today to prosper as future leaders.
EU Vice Chancellor said, education is the key to development and no nation can ascend to the pinnacle of development without being properly educated. He also mentioned that Eastern University has been taking part in the nation building process by imparting quality higher education to its students since its inception.
All guests of the seminar thanked Eastern University for this noble initiative.
Mohammad Imtiaj, Deputy Director and Head of PR, EU and Jamal Uddin, Deputy Director and Head of OSA, EU conducted the seminar. Members of Board of Trustees, Eastern University; Treasurer, EU; Registrar, EU; Senior Officials from IFIC Bank and Al-Arafah Bank; Principals of Colleges, successful students and their guardians; teachers and officials of EU were present in the ceremony.
The program was ended with vote thanks from the Registrar of EU Abul Basher Khan.
