The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka on Thursday deferred the submission of the investigation report in the Channel I presenter Moulana Nurul Islam Faruqui murder case to January 23.
Magistrate Mazharul Haque of the CMM Court passed the order yesterday as the Investigation Officer of CID Police Inspector Arshed Ali could not
submit the report following the previous order of the court issued on November 5.
On November 27, 2014, a group of 6-7 miscreants stormed into the house of Faruqui, who was also a Presidium Member of the Islami Front and Internal Affairs Secretary of Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat, and killed him by slitting his throat.
The following day, Faruqui’s son Faisal Faruqui lodged the case with Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station of the city.
