Murder case: Submission of probe report against Khaleda, others deferred

The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka on Monday deferred the date for submission of the probe report in the case filed against BNP Chief Begum Khaleda Zia and three others to September 20.
Magistrate Mazharul Islam of the CMM Court passed order fixing the new date as the Officer-in-Charge of Gulshan Police Station did not submit the report on Monday in the case filed against the accused on the charges of
murder and sedition. Other three accused persons are- BNP Chairperson’s Adviser Professor Emajuddin Ahmed, BNP Standing Committee Member Barrister Rafiqul Islam Mia and Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury, a former Vice Chairman of the party. They were also accused of burning 42 people to death and damaging government property worth crores of Taka during the BNP-led alliances’ blockade programme. The case record says, Khaleda Zia announced the programme from her Gulshan office in the city on January 5, last year. The blockade programme followed shutdown.
