Hurting sentiments: Submission of probe report against Khaleda deferred

Court Correspondent :A court of Dhaka on Thursday deferred the submission of probe report for the 19th time to August 1 in a case filed against BNP Chief Begum Khaleda Zia on the charge of hurting religious sentiments of people.Magistrate Abdullah Al Masud of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka passed the order as the Investigation Officer of the case did not submit the report on Thursday, as directed on June 7.Pro-Awami League organization, Jananetri Parishad President AB Siddiqui filed the case on October 21, 2014, accusing Begum Khaleda Zia for defamatory remarks, intended to create conflict among the people of different social strata and beliefs.The case docket says that while addressing a function of the Hindu community at the Institute of Engineers, Bangladesh, on October 14, 2014, Khaleda Zia said, “Awami League leaders are pretending to be secular but they have no belief in any religion.”
