Court Correspondent :
A court of Dhaka yesterday (Monday) again deferred date of submission of the probe report in a case filed against BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia for hurting religious sentiment of the people to June 18.
The probe was scheduled to be submitted on Monday, but the Investigation Officer (IO) of the case could not do that while Magistrate Shamsul Arefin of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka fixed the new date.
In the case filed by Jananetri Parishad
President AB Siddique on October 21 last year, Begum Khaleda Zia was also charged with using words intended to create conflict among people from different social strata.
The case statement says that Khaleda Zia while addressing a function of the Hindu community at the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh, on October 14 last year, said “Awami League leaders are pretending to be secular, but they have no faith in religion.”
“Awami League men attack people from all social strata and occupy religious institutions using secularism as rhetoric when they talk”, she said.
