Sub-committee formed to review loan withdrawn report from BTCL

Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunication and Information Technology on Tuesday formed a sub-committee for further review the investigation report on loan withdrawn from a project of Bangladesh Telecommunications Company (BTCL).
The sub-committee, headed by Kazi Firoz Rashid, would review the investigation report on loan withdrawn by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) from the lot-B part of the “Telecommunication Network Development” project.
The decision was taken at 11th meeting of the committee held with its chairman Imran Ahmed in the chair.
Committee members including state minister for posts and telecommunication division Tarana Halim, state minister for ICT division Zunaid Ahmed Palak,
Moazzem Hossain Ratan, Sheikh Afil Uddin, Kazi Firoz Rashid and Hosne Ara Lutfa Dalia were took part at the meeting.
The parliamentary watchdog body also discussed elaborately about the
Telecommunication Network Development project and other development initiatives taken by the ICT division.
The committee advised the posts and telecommunication division and ICT division for taking project on priority basis, and asked for submitting.
weekly development report on the project.
Secretaries of the concerned divisions, BTRC Chairman and parliament
officials were present at the meeting, among others.
