Students urged to utilize merit thru’ hard work

Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury advised the students to groom as worthy citizens utilizing their merit through hard work and perseverance.
“Merit, perseverance and hard work are the main steps required for progress,” she said this on Sunday while speaking as chief guest at a function to lay foundation stone of a new academic building of P.C High School in Barolekha upazila.
Presided over by Barolekha Upazila Chairman M Rafiqul Islam Sundar, the function was also addressed by Whip M Shahab Uddin, former MP Hosne Ara Begum, Upazila Awami League General Secretary Dr. Pronoy Kumar Dey, Girls’ College Vice-Principal AKM Helal and Moulavibazar District AL Senior Joint Convener Bardul Islam, among others, said an official release.
At the function, a reception was accorded to the meritorious students of the school.
The speaker said Bangladesh has progressed in all indexes of development.
The country would be marching forward in developing education, alleviating poverty and attaining social safety, she said and added that all would have to work together for this. She advised the students to know the history of the country’s independence and work for the country’s overall development.
