Speakers at a function here on Monday urged the students to acquire technical education properly to generate employment opportunity in the country.
“In this context, brilliant and talent students have to come forward with the mentality to equip themselves with the time befitting technical education to make Bangladesh as a modern one through creating employment opportunity”, they said.
They made the comments while addressing a function on scholarship and education tools distribution organized by Arif Rabbi Polytechnic Institute on its campus in Shaghata upazila.
Deputy speaker of the Bangladesh Parliament Advocate Fazle Rabbi Miah addressed the function as the chief guest and deputy managing director of Palli Karma Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) Dr. Jasim Uddin was present as special guest.
With principal of the institute Masum Begum in the chair, the function was also addressed, among others, by upazila parishad chairman AHM Golam Shahid Ranju, UNO Abdul Awal, executive chief of SKS Foundation Rasel Ahmed Liton, president of upazila AL Nazmul Huda Dudu and general secretary Abdul Hamid Sarker Babu.
The deputy speaker said the principal goal of the present government is to build a hunger, poverty and illiteracy free prosperous Bangladesh through technological development.
The government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had given priority on the expansion of technical education to turn the country’s huge population into skilled human resources to cope with the challenges of the 21st century, he said.
Later, the deputy speaker distributed scholarships and education tools among the students of the institute.
