The students have demanded reduction of extra fee for B.A (Pass), B.S.S, B.B.S and B.S.C 2nd year examination at Gafargaon Govt.College under Mymensingh.
The agitated students have created chaos , vandalism on the college campus on Thursday morning.
At that time Habibur Rahman Talukder, of General Secretary of Teachers’ Parishad, and Asstt .Prof of English Departmen,Kaji Zakaria Ferdus have been harassed in this incident .Besides , Smrity Akter, a student of 2nd year and peon Hamida Akter have been injured critically.
Getting information, police went to the college campus and brought the situation under control .After the incident, UNO Shiddharta Shonkor Kundu and OC of Gafargaon Thana Mahabub Alam visited the college campus. Principal Prof Amir Hossain has lodged a GD at Gafargaon Thana .
It is learnt from college authority, students and police that Gafargaon Govt. College authority have fixed up fees Tk 3800 instead of National University fixed rate Tk 1300 for B.A (Pass), B,S,S, B.B.S and B.S.C for the examination 2016 but the students alleged that the college authority is taking extra fee from them for form-fill up for the up coming examination.
