‘Students must be prepared as competent manpower’

Primary and Mass Education Minister Advocate Mustafizur Rahman Fizar has categorically said the students must be prepared as competent manpower to meet up its gradually increasing demand both in home and abroad and there is no space of failure in this regard.
He said the present government is pledged bound to ensure time-fitting standard of education and has been working relentlessly to this end.
The minister said this yesterday while sharing views with all officials of the Primary Education Department and school teachers in the district at Rajshahi Medical College auditorium on Friday as the chief guest.
With Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Parvej Raihan in the chair, Abdul Wadud Dara, MP, Ayen Uddin, MP, Akhtar Jahan, MP, former state minister Prof Zinatunnessa Talukder, Joint Secretary to the ministry Sheikh Atahar Hossain, Divisional Deputy Director of the department Abul Khayer, District Primary Education Officer Abul Kashem and Thana Education Officer Md Sanaullah also spoke.
Minister Fizar said Bangabandhu had nationalised 37,000 primary schools in 1973 to take the country’s education forward. His well-competent daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina also nationalised 27,000 primary schools in 2013.
Listing various development programmes the Minister said the government has upgraded the post of headmaster in primary schools to second class. Extension activity of primary education from class five to class eight is now on process.
Mustafizur said there are massive achievements in primary education sector.
Hundred percent enrollment was ensured and pass percentage is now almost
hundred percent. Now, our main responsibility is to provide standard teaching
to the students so that they could show their competence everywhere in the
world, he added.
The minister put emphasis on boosting relation between the teachers and
parents to make the teaching-learning activities furthermore effective. He
urged the teachers to teach the students properly through giving up tendency
in discharging duty for taking the country forward.
