One student of class VI was killed by storm when he was returning home observing the function of the Independence and the National Day at Bhurungamari upazila in Kurigram at 12 pm on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Chamir Uddin (12), son of Mohor Ali of village Islampur of the upazila. He was also a student of class six in a local Kinder Garden School.
Local sources said Chamir Uddin along with his some friends was returning home observing the function of thet Independence Day held at Bhurungamari Pilot High School ground. Suddenly a storm and strong wind blew causing a branch of tree of the road side broke and falls on his head at Noleya Kurarpar area of the upazila. Locals recovered and immediately taken him to Bhurungamari Upazila Health Complex in a critical condition where the attending doctors declared him dead.
RMO of the Health Complex Dr A.S.M. Sayem said, branch of tree hit his head seriously causing dead . The matter was informed to police. The body was handed over to his relative .
