Accused temporarily dismissed: Student dies for torturing by teacher at Mahalchhari

 A student allegedly died for the torture by the headmaster of Mahalchhari Guchchagram Government Primary School Md. Mahin Uddin Khandaker and the teacher has been temporarily dismissed on Monday.
 The teacher was discharged by the District Primary Education Officer Fatema Mehr Yasmin.
The victim was identified as Hossen Ali, 12, son of Md. Shafiul Alam resident of Sylhety Para area Of Mahalchhari Upazila Sadar. And he was a student of class five of Guchchagram Government Primary School.
District Primary Education Officer Fatema Mehr Yasmin said, “Assistant District Education Officer Abdul Hai has been given the responsibility to investigate the incident. After receiving the responsibilities, the investigation team went to Mahalchhari on Tuesday noon and talked to witnesses including Victim Hossain Ali’s family.”
“They will go to Mahalchhari on Sunday to re-investigate”, she added.
The father of the victim Md. Shafiul Alam said, “My son was going to the accused teacher’s house for coaching. For the absence in the coaching of consecutive two days, Mahin Uddin Khandakar gave punishment to Hossen Ali to up and down 310 times by holding ear. Further, he was physically tortured. He lost knowledge instant due to excessive torture.”
He also said, “When the condition deteriorated, he was taken to Chattogram from Khagrachhari for treatment. In spite of no improvement in the situation, he was finally taken to India’s Chennai.”
He died there after a month long of medical treatment. On 14th June, his death-body was brought from India to Mahalchhari and buried, Shafiul Alam added.
Victim’s mother Yasmin Begum said, “We do not want any kind of compensation. I want an exemplary punishment for the accused teacher.”
Accused Head Master Md. Mahin Uddin Khandaker said, “Since I have been officially discharged, so I have nothing to say to the media.”
