Stocks witness flat on lower transactions

Stock markets witnessed flat on Monday when daily transactions declined on lower demand.
The day’s trade value at DSE declined to Taka 903.38 crore from Sunday’s Taka 983.49 crore and the daily trade fell to 24.80 crore shares from 28.06 crore shares of the previous session. The border DSEX index of Dhaka Stock Exchange closed the day with 7.17 points down at 6,216.62. The blue-chip DS30 and the Shariah DSES closed the day with 6.59 points up at 2,261.87 and with 6.59 point up at 1,349.48.
At DSE, out of the day’s 322 securities, prices of 106 securities closed higher against 186 losing issues.
The major gaining issues were Pharma Aid, INTECH, RECKITTBEN, EBL MHSML and GP. The major losing issues were Golden Son, Sino Bangla, Aziz Pipes, Monno Ceramics and NTC.
Ifad Autos topped the turnover list followed by Dhaka Bank, AB Bank, GP and City Bank. The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed the day of the week with downward trend with its major CASPI 35.77 points down at 19,265.99.
At CSE, issues traded 242 while 78 closed higher against 131 closed lower when 1.75 crore shares worth Taka 49.46 crore changed hands.
