Stocks up for 6th straight session

Dhaka stocks entered the 6th straight session upward, with advancing further on Monday on higher activities. Securities, however, performed mixed as investors were mostly cap-focused.
The broader DSEX index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) gained 29.29 points to finish the session at resistance level of 5558.57. The blue-chip DS30 and the Shariah DSES were also up at 2024.76 and 1299.03 respectively. The trade value was 13.10 percent up at Taka 1093.50 crore when the trade value rose by 8.48 percent to 28.54 crore shares.
Out of the day’s traded 329 issues, 119 were up and 174 were low, with 36 others trading at their previous closing prices. Telecom, paper and printing and fuel and power were the day’s major advancing sectors when bank, real estate and mutual funds incurred major loss.
Titas Gas was the top gainers, with PDL, Fu Wang Ceramic, ACI Formula and Doreen Power taking the following positions in the table for top five issues.
The session’s major five losing issues were NCCBLMF1, RSRM Steel, AL Arafa Bank, Family Tex and ICB2nd NRB.
