Stocks see upward trend on higher transactions

Stocks witnessed upward trends on Tuesday as major indices of both Dhaka and Chittagong Stock Exchanges rose up on higher transactions.
The day’s trade value at DSE increased to Taka 731.69 crore from Monday’s Taka 696.95 crore and the daily trade also rose to 17.95 crore share from 16.41 crore share of the previous session.
The broader DSEX of DSE closed the day with 28.79 points up at 5,472.60. The blue-chip DS30 and the Shariah DSES also followed the same trend with 2.67 points up at 1,905.09 and with 1.71 points up at 1,262.37.
At DSE, out of the day’s 335 securities, prices of 166 securities closed higher against 128 losing issues.
The major gaining issues were Family Textile, Fine Foods, Pragati Life, Paramount and Intech while the major losing issues were CAPMIBBLMF, LRGLOBMF1, Aziz Pipes, MLDYEING and Meghna Pet. KPCL topped the turnover list followed by Active Fine, Ifad Autos, Shasha Denims and BBS Cables.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed the day of the week with upward trends with its major CASPI 71.16 points up at 16,831.49.
