Stocks see upward trend on higher transactions

Stocks witnessed upward trends on Wednesday as major indices of both Dhaka and Chattogram Stock Exchanges rose up on higher transactions.
The day’s trade value at DSE increased to Taka 863.54 crore from Tuesday’s Taka 786.06 crore and the daily trade also rose to 17.13 crore share from 15.79 crore share of the previous session.
The broader DSEX of DSE closed the day with 8.70 points up at 5,334.18. The blue-chip DS30 and the Shariah DSES also followed the same trend with 5.60 points up at 1,899.98 and with 6.10 points up at 1,269.10. At DSE, out of the day’s 341 securities, prices of 137 securities closed higher against 169 losing issues.
The major gaining issues were KDSALTD, BENGALWTL, ACI Formula, Apex Foods and IBNSINA. The major losing issues were BIFC, Global Insurance, Sonar Bangla Insurance, SKTRIMS and Dacca Dying. KDSALTD topped the turnover list followed by Aman Feed, BPML, BBS Cables and Peninsula.
The Chattogram Stock Exchange (CSE) closed the day of the week with upward
trends with its major CASPI 17.89 points up at 16,403.16. At CSE, 253 issues
were traded. Of those, 113 closed higher and 122 closed lower.
