Stocks finished the session of the week on Monday in green as large-cap securities vibrated with rising trend at both the Dhaka and Chittagong Stock exchanges.
The rising major sectors were travel and leisure, food and allied and cement. A total of 139 securities of the large-cap group incurred gain due to higher market activities. The broader index DSEX of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) finished the session with 22.52 points up at 5,798.12. The blue-chip DS30 and Shariah DSES followed it with 4.17 points up at 2125.34 and with 1.40 points up at 1,312.74 respectively.
The day’s trade value at DSE increased to Taka 631.39 crore from Sunday’s Taka 477.97 crore and the daily trade rose to 18.06 crore shares from 14.46 crore shares of the previous session.
At DSE, out of the day’s 330 securities, prices of 182 securities closed higher against 100 losing issues.
The major gaining issues were Peninsula, Fu Wang Food, Pragati Insurance, ARAMITCEM and Takaful Insurance. The major losing companies were Peoples Insurance, BD Finance, Prime Life, ICBSONALI1 and FIRSTSBANK.
Ifad Autos topped the turnover leaders followed by Lanka Bangla Finance, Square Pharma, SPCL and Fu Wang Food.
