Incidents of murder , secret killings are going rampant in the port city recently. City dwellers are in utter panicked over this incidents. Police could not accurately identify the real killers. Recently on Friday last, double murders occurred in a shrine at Baizid area of the port city under Baizid thana . Police arrested one peson suspecting involved with the murder of Lengta Fakir and his attendant (khadem) on Friday evening.
The detained identified as Abdul Mannam Mona, 40, was arrested at Shershah Bangla Bazar in the .evening. Locals said a youth fled away the sanctum of ‘Fakir’ Rahmat Ullah alias ‘Lengta Mamu’, by exploding two bombs after slaughtering the throat to death him and his attendant Md Abdul Kader on Friday morning.
On Tuesday last one Jubo League leader Mehdi was shot down by a miscreant but police yet to nab any one in connection. JL leader was shot dead while returning from anti-terrorist meeting in Shershah colony under Baizid thana. In this incident, a suspect was rounded up , sources said. One August 16 last, one Md. Aziz was murdered by unknown miscreants at Kadamtali area under Sadar ghat thana. Police sources said Aziz was left in road infront of Kadamtali poramasjid after killed. Local sources told the police that three miscreants riding in motorbike killed him by chopping .
A case in connection was filed with the Sadar ghat thana on August 16 last and police rounded up one suspect in the killing . Another killing incident occurred at Halishahar Bank colony under EPZ thana in front of one Amir sowdagar , one Md. Babu(19) was killed by stabbing . Locals apprehended suspected killer Monir who was handed over to police.
One Jubodal worker named Saidul Islam was slaughtered at Sagarika Alamtara pukurpar area by unidentified miscreants on August 21 last. Pahartali thana launched searching to apprehend the killers, sources said. One real estate businessmen named Aftab Ahmed was stabbed to death at Abdul Latif Hatkola area under Bakalia thana area on August 21 last following old enmity over construction of apartment house, Bakalia thana sources said. The killer yet to be detained.
Meanwhile one Saheda(25) , a worker of a garments factory of CEPZ was slaughtered to death at Kalsidighir par under Bandar thana on August 23, last. Police recovered the body and sent to morgue. Besides, Akkas Uddin(30) was chopped to death at Mannan colony of Hizrapara under double mooring thana by the miscreants on August 26 last.
CMP police sources said they are trying to find out the mystery behind the killings , some were arrested in the meantime and sent to jail custody.
