Stock remained bullish on Wednesday despite moderate fall in daily transaction.
The broader index at Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) gained 11.17 points to end the day at 5027.91 after reaching 25-month high on Tuesday.
Like previous session, the DS30 and the DSES also finished the session in green, but with marginal rise. The two indices finished at 1808.45 and 1189.00 respectively.
The transaction, however, fell slightly on cautious trading. The daily trade volume, which hit a record nearing 50 crore, came down to 38.57 crore. Accordingly, the trade value also fell to Taka 9.38 crore from previous day’s Taka 1210.36 crore.
Share prices continued to move upward when 165 securities close up against 129 losing issues.
The major gainers were EBLNBRMF, CMC Kamal, MHSML, ICB3rdNRB and Prime1ICBA. The major losers included Modern Dying, Exim1stMF, Emerald Oil, Standard ceramic and Agrani Insurance.
Ifad Auto topped the turnover leaders followed by BBS, Central Pharma, Lanka Bangla Finance and Appollo Isphat.
Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also closed the day up, with its CASPI index ending 23.21 points up at 15473.36.
Like DSE, the daily trade value at CSE also fell to Taka 61.15 crore and the volume to 27.68 crore shares from Tuesday’s Taka 78.58 crore and 3.61 crore shares. Out of the traded 263 issues, 129 closed up against 102 lagging securities.
