Stocks performed mixed on Tuesday with major indices finishing flat despite increasing the daily transactions, which rose at the market that prevented price indices from sharp decline.
The daily transaction at the two markets rose considerably. The trade value at Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) increased to Taka 808.06 crore from Monday’s Taka 748.08 crore when the trade volume was up to 29.64 crore from 27.25 crore shares of the last session.
At Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), the trade value increased to Taka 46.05 crore and the volume to 2.15 crore shares over previous session’s Taka 41.45 crore and 1.88 crore shares respectively.
The broader DSEX index at DSE lost 4.34 points to close the day at 4793.31 when the blue-chip DS30 and Shariah DSES fell marginally down to 1768.06 and 1135.47 respectively.
CSE closed the fourth day of the week with upward trend with its major CASPI 2.51 points up at 14,775.89.
At DSE 149 issues gained when 125 incurred loss and 50 remained unchanged out of the traded 324 securities. Similarly, 128 issues ended higher at CSE against 102 losing and 25 static issues.
The day’s major gainers were Generation Next, Federal Insurance, Safko Spinning, Regent Textile and National Tubes. The most losing securities included Midas Finance, Dragon Sweater, EBL NRB Mutual Fund, RN Spinning and CMC Kamal.
Quasem Drycell topped the turnover list followed by RSRM Steel, BBS, Beximco Limited, National Tubes and Doreen Power.
