Stocks performed mixed on Sunday with major indices finishing flat on higher activities of some large cap securities amid declining the daily transactions.
The rising major sectors were engineering and textile. The gaining major sectors were Rangpur Foundry, Shasha Denims, BBS Cables, Rahim Textile and HFL.
The broader DSEX index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) closed the day with 1.64 points up at 6,041.20. But the Shariah DSES and the blue-chip DS30 closed the day with 2.85 points up at 1,332.28 and with 0.96 points up at 2,189.26. The day’s trade value at DSE decreased to Taka 543.68 crore from Thursday’s Taka 600.72 crore and the daily trade fell to 13.04 crore shares from 15.06 crore shares of the previous session.
At DSE, out of the day’s 331 securities, prices of 109 securities closed higher against 181 losing issues.
The major losing issues were Legacy Footwear, Shyampur Sugar, Zeal Bangla, ARAMITCEM and SP Ceramics.
