National Karate: Bangladesh Army emerge champions

Bangladesh Army emerged champions in the 23rd National Karate Championship that concluded at the Shaheed Suhrawardy National Indoor Stadium in Mirpur on Sunday.
Bangladesh Army clinched the top slot securing 10 gold, three silver and three bronze medals; Bangladesh Ansar finished runners-up collecting six gold, four silver and three bronze medals while Bangladesh Police became 3rd winning one gold, one silver and three bronze medals.
State Minister for Youth and Sports Biren Sikder MP was the chief guest at the closing function of the two-day meet Sunday afternoon who later distributed the prizes.
President of Bangladesh Karate Federation and former Director General of RAB M Moklesur Rahman was also present on the occasion.
More than 300 karate players from different districts, divisions and services teams took part in 18 events of Kata and Kumi.
