Stocks open week mixed on higher transaction

Stocks performed mixed on Sunday with major indices finishing flat despite increasing the daily transactions, which rose at the market that prevented price indices from sharp decline.
The daily transaction at the two markets rose considerably. The trade value at Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) increased to Taka 1103.75 crore from Thursday’s Taka 964.06 crore when the trade volume was up to 35.91 crore from 30.18 crore shares of the last session.
At Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), the trade value increased to Taka 72.01 crore and the volume to 2.61 crore shares over previous session’s Taka 55.50 crore and 2.10 crore shares respectively.
The broader DSEX index at DSE lost 5.82 points to close the day at 5695.45. The Shariah DSES also followed it by 3.26 points down at 1307.82. On the other hand, the blue-chip DS30 rose by 6.68 points at 2066.32.
CSE closed the opening session of the week with upward trend with its major CASPI 1.54 points up at 17, 706.98.
At DSE 133 issues gained when 164 incurred loss and 33 remained unchanged out of the traded 330 securities. Similarly, 92 issues ended higher at CSE against 131 losing and 30 static issues.
The day’s major gainers were ICB First NRB, Primer Leasing, International Leasing, Pragati Insurance and FAS Finance.
