Stocks open week down as major sectors dip

Stocks opened week down as major sectors closing the session with falling trend at both the Dhaka and Chittagong Stock exchanges on Sunday.
The broader index DSEX of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) finished the session 9.15 points down at 4568.43. The blue-chip DS30 and Shariah DSES followed it by 5.91 down at 1789.29 and 0.81 at 1122.23 respectively.
Similarly, the prime CASPI index at Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) was 28.68 points down at 14041.53.
The transaction at DSE was 9.30 core shares and total value of the share was Taka 418.27 crore.
At DSE, out of the day’s 325 traded issues, price of 163 securities closed lower against 105 gaining issues. At CSE, issues traded 242 while 124 closed lower against 83 closed higher.
The major gaining issues were Sonali Ansh, Usmania Glass Sheet Factory Limited, Eastern Cables, Northern Jute and CVOPRL. The major losing companies were BD Auto Cars, ICB Sonali 1, Reliance 1, Evince Tex and KDS Accessories Limited.
Titas Gas topped the turnover leaders followed by Lafarge Surma Cement, MJL BD, BSC and BSCCL.
