Stocks open week down as major sectors dip

Stock markets on Sunday opened the week with downward trend as most of the major sectors closed lower while daily transactions were also declining.
The major falling sectors were textile, IT sector and fuel and power. A total of 201 securities of the large-cap group incurred loss due to lower activities.
The broader index DSEX of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) finished the first session of the week 51.81 points down at 5,415.25. The Shariah DSES and the blue-chip DS30 followed the same trend with 5.35 points down at 1,250.16 and with 3.78 points down at 1,897.22 respectively.
