Stocks maintained upward trend on both bourses on Monday, the opening day after three-day Eid vacation.
Share trading at Dhaka and Chittagong stock exchanges remained closed from September 1 to 3 for Eid-ul-Azha.
The broader DSEX of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) closed the day with 31.94 points up at 6038.38. The Shariah DSES and the blue-chip DS30 also followed the same trend with 6.86 points up at 1328.96 and with 6.28 points up at 2145.01.
Out of the 329 issues traded on DSE, 181gained against 104 losing issues.
The day’s trade value at DSE stood at Tk 667.37 crore and 20.95 crore shares exchanged hands.
The top five gainers of the day were Standard Ceramics, Monno Ceramics, Prime Finance 1st, Apex Spinning and Fuwang Ceramics. The major losing issues of the day included SEML Lecture Equity Management Fund, SEML IBBL Sharia Fund, DBH First Mutual Fund, Prime First ICBA AMCL Mutual Fund and Green Delta Mutual Fund.
Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also closed the day up, with its major CASPI index ending 125.81 points higher at 18730.57.
