Stocks end week with gain

Stocks ended week on Thursday with rising trend on active participation around larger cap group despite daily transaction fell marginally.
Compared to last week, the average transaction of the week at Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) was down when daily average volume of the total shares fell by 23.21 percent to 13.41 crore and the total value decreased by 27.66 percent to Taka 436.78 crore.
The broader DSEX of DSE closed the last session of the week 39.69 points up at 4672.87 while 36.64 points up at 4672.88 comparing the last week.
The Shariah DSES and blue chip DS30 followed the same trend in the last session of the week to close 10 points up at 1118.05 and 17.85 points up at 1757.77.
Compared to last week, the DSEX, the DSES and the DS30, however, closed in green.
CSE also closed the last session of the week up with its major CASPI index closing about 115.95 points at 14,346.81.
At DSE, out of the week, 330 traded issues, price of 175 securities closed higher against 125 losing issues.
The major gaining issues of the week were Peninsula Chittagong, Bangladesh Building Systems, Eastern Lubricants, Golden Harvest Agro Industries and Confidence Cement. The major losing issues were Legacy Footwear, Sinobangla Industries, Khulna Printing and Packaging, metro Spinning and Golden Son.
