Stocks end week with gain

Stocks ended week on Thursday with rising trend on active participation around larger cap group with higher transaction.Compared to the last week, the average transaction of the week at Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) was upward trend when daily average volume of the total shares rose by 8.46 percent to 14.55 crore and the total value increased by 34.95 percent to Taka 589.44 crore.
The broader DSEX of DSE closed the last session of the week 5.88 points up at 4677.14 while 4.26 points up at 4677.14 comparing the last week.
Compared to the last week, the Shariah DSES and blue chip DS30 followed the same trend with closing 4.42 points up at 1122.48 and 0.39 points up at 1757.77 respectively.
CSE also closed the week up with its major CASPI index closing about 40.80 points at 14,387.61.
At DSE, out of the week, 330 traded issues, price of 134 securities closed higher against 173 losing issues.
The major gaining issues of the week were Shasha Denims, Kohinoor Chemicals Company, Confidence Cement, Golden Harvest Agro Industries and Doreen Power. The major losing issues were Rahim Textile, Active Fine, Evince textiles, AFC Agro Biotech and Tallu Spinning.
Confidence Cement topped the turnover leaders followed by Doreen Power, Shasha Denims, Square Pharma and Apex Footwear.
