Country’s both the bourses, Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) on Thursday finished week bouncing back to winning streak buoyed by participation of enthusiastic investors in trade.
DSEX, the key index of the DSE, went up by 22.52 points or 0.46 percent to settle at 4,942.12. Two other indices also closed higher. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, rose 19.21 points to finish at 1,725.64 and the DSE Shariah Index advanced 5.62 points to close at 1,120.47.
Turnover, another important indicator of the market, crossed the 9.0-billion-mark and stood at Taka 9.29 billion on the country’s prime bourse.
Of the issues traded, 120 advanced, 146 declined and 92 issues remained unchanged on the DSE floor.
Beximco Pharma topped the turnover chart followed by Beximco, BRAC Bank, Peoples Insurance and SP Ceramics.
AOL was the day’s best performer while ILFSL was the worst loser.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also kept gaining with its All Shares Price Index (CASPI)-soaring 74.06 points to close at 14,188.31 and the Selective Categories Index – CSCX -rising 46.35 points to finish at 8,536.47.
Of the issues traded, 256 gained, 100 declined and 108 remained unchanged on the CSE.
The port city bourse traded 13.06 million shares and mutual fund units with turnover value of Taka 332 million.
