Stocks end six-day rally on profit-booking

Dhaka stocks closed lower on Tuesday, ending the six-day rally that began on August 4 on stable macro-economic situation and good corporate disclosure.
DSEX, the benchmark price index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), rose to a three-month high on Monday, but came marginally down at 4526.49 on Tuesday on profit-booking selling.
The two selective indices – DS30 for the blue-chip scrips and the DSES for Shariah- based companies – also followed the general price barometer with little correction to fall to 1688.44 and 1047.96 respectively.
Accordingly, the daily trade volume and the value decreased to 15.12 crore shares of Taka 681.37 crore from Monday’s six-month high transaction of 16.48 crore shares of Taka 790 crore.
