Stocks close week down despite higher transactions

Stocks closed the week down on Thursday with falling trends of all major price indices at Dhaka and Chittagong Stock Exchanges despite higher transactions.
The broader DSEX of the DSE finished the week with 28.05 points down at 5,813.14. The blue-chip DS30 and Shariah DSES also followed the same trend with 7.74 points down at 2,186.79 and with 3.70 points down at 1,352.84 respectively.
Out of the 341 issues traded at the DSE, 130 gained against 185 losing issues.
The top five gainers of the week were Monno Stafflers, Popular Life, Sonali Ansh, RENWICKJA and Mercantile Insurance.
The major losing issues of the week were Islamic Finance, Rupali Bank, Dulamia Cotton, City Bank and First Finance.
The top five turnover leaders were Beximco, ADVENT, BRAC Bank, Monno Ceramics and Keya Cosmetics.
Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also closed the week down, with its major CASPI index ending 83.67 points lower at 17,934.10.
