Stocks close week down

Stocks closed the week down on Thursday with falling trends of all major price indices at Dhaka and Chittagong Stock Exchanges as the daily transactions declined amid volatility in large-cap securities.
During the week, the daily average trade value declined by 1.8 per cent to Taka 427.70 crore. But the average trade volume increased by 1.3 per cent to 12.15 crore shares.
The broader DSEX of the DSE finished the week with 47.23 points down at 6,182.79.
The blue-chip DS30 and Shariah DSES also followed the same trend with 15.99 points down at 2,231.19 and with 10.02 points down at 1,366.56 respectively.
Out of the 336 issues traded on DSE, 92 gained against 218 losing issues. The top five gainers of the week were Rupali Life, Emerald Oil, Republic Insurance, Shympur Sugar and Aamra Net.
The major losing issues of the week were Dulamia Cotton, Jute Spinning, Tung Hai, Samata Leather and ALIF.
The top five turnover leaders were ALIF, GP, Square Pharma, National Tubes, Shahjalal Bank and Islami Bank.
Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also closed the week down, with its major CASPI index ending 151.48 points lower at 19,122.74.
