Stocks break 4-day gaining streak

Stock markets closed on Tuesday down breaking a rally that continued at both Dhaka and Chittagong stock exchanges in the past four sessions in a row.
The markets were upbeat in the last four-days, taking the broader index at the prime bourse up at close of every trading session since April 4.
The broader index of DSEX of DSE closed the session with 19.81 points down at 5,859.61. The blue-chip DS30 and the Shariah DSES also followed the same trend with 2.64 points down at 1,360.39 and with 11.95 points down at 2,195.66 respectively.
Out of the 338 issues traded on DSE, 122 gained against 184 losing issues.
The trade volume at DSE rose to 23.65 crore from Monday’s 20.94 crore shares and the trade value at DSE increased to Taka 710.97 crore from the previous session of Taka 691.52 crore.
The five major gaining companies were Keya Cosmetic, RENWICKJA, Libra Infusion, BNICL and Monno Stafflers. The five major losing companies were NHFIL, Peninsula, Shurwid, Prime Bank and SINGERBD.
The top five turnover leaders were Beximco, Brac Bank, Keya Cosmetic, UNIQUEHRL and ALIF Manufecturing. The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed the day of the week with downward trends with its major CASPI 63.62 points down at 18,091.91.
