Stocks on Thursday closed the week upward with rising trend of all major price indices at Dhaka and Chittagong Stock Exchanges due to higher activities.
The broader DSEX of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) closed the week with 36.48 points up at 5,169.74. The blue-chip DS30 and Shariah DSES also closed the week with 2.31 points up at 1,838.50 and with 18.46 points up at 1,192.19.
Out of the 356 traded securities, 182 closed higher against 154 losing issues when 18 remained unchanged.
During the week, the top five gainers were Monno Ceramic Industries Limited, Monno Jute Stafflers Limited, Stylecraft Limited, Intech Limited and Legacy Footwear Limited.
The five major losing companies were Vanguard AML Rupali Bank Balance Fund, Sunlife Insurance Company Limited, Vanguard AML BD Finance Mutual Fund One, SEML IBBL Shariah Fund and SEML Lecture Equity Management Fund.
