Speakers at a public meeting called for stiff resistance against militancy and communalism imbued with the spirit of the great war of liberation.
“The vested quarters are hatching a deep-rooted conspiracy with a clandestine motive to destroy the hard-earned democracy,” they said, adding that all pro-liberation, patriotic and conscious people should raise voice and take stand against the militancy and communalism.
Rajshahi District and City units of Bangladesher Workers Party (BWP) jointly organized the public meeting at Shaheb Bazar Zero Point in Rajshahi yesterday.
BWP General Secretary Fazley Hossain Badsha, MP, addressed the meeting as the chief guest with its city unit president Liakat Ali in the chair.
BWP Politburo Member Nur Ahmmed Bakul, Mostofa Lutfullah, MP, Yeasin Ali, MP, and local leaders Rafiqul Islam and Debashish Pramanik also spoke.
Fazley Hossain Badsha said there is no alternative to uphold the spirit of
liberation war as the nation had been liberated through supreme sacrifice of
scores of freedom-loving people. “Compromising with any communal group might
be detrimental to the liberation war spirit”, he added.
He also called for establishing a society free from corruption, nepotism
and disparity.
